Jesmonite tests

Jesmonite tests

Today we had a jesmonite workshop, which is essentially mixing plaster and acrylic together to get a solid, hard material which can have grits, marble dust and bronze dust mixed in to create stone like surfaces.

This was made with a silicone mould, the jesmonite goes off quite quickly and its usually cured in an hour, but is better leaving for 24 hours before de-moulding, this is the reason why the beak is a bit small because I de-moulded too early a crack the front off, at least i know not to do it next time.
